Katelyn grew up a pretty active kid, always trying something new whether it be gymnastics, piano, karate, or what she loved most, soccer. While earning her Degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, she found herself far less active and very stressed out. Those four years resulted in several health issues including high blood pressure, high cholesterol, severe anxiety and a weight gain of over 50 lbs. The next few years were a struggle riding the ‘diet’ roller coaster.
In 2010 she married her best friend, Aaron. In 2012 they had their daughter Kynlee and a short 20 months later they had their son Weston. It was at this point she said enough is enough, she was determined to take back control of her health.
While completing ISSA’s Specialist in Fitness Nutrition Certification she found a love for lifting weights and began changing her daily habits. With consistency, commitment and patience she completely changed her body composition and found a confidence she hadn’t had before. Experiencing this change first hand sparked a passion for serving others through this process, providing education, encouragement and guidance. She went on to earn the Precision Nutrition Level 1 Certification, as well as became a Certified Personal Trainer.
Katelyn is a firm believer in leading by example and is proud to say that the trajectory of her entire family changed through that one decision. Aaron has come to learn how to fuel his body, consistently lifts weights, has lost about 40 lbs and is stronger than he was even in his collegiate baseball days. Katelyn homeschools both of their children, which allows them even more opportunity to witness their parents daily commitment to their health, which they began to mimic from a young age. Kynlee is now a competitive athlete in cheer and tumble. Weston has a passion for CrossFit and completed his first CF comp in 2023. Both regularly attend CrossFit Kids at 313. Katelyn is excited and grateful for the opportunity to merge her two passions; working with children and health and fitness.
